Largest footwear fair in the world, Micam will feature 71 Brazilian brands

With over 1.4 thousand exhibitors and the expectation to receive 40 thousand buyers from the main footwear markets in the world, Micam will also feature Brazilian colors in its halls. The Italian footwear fair, which takes place from September 16 to 19, in Milan, will receive 71 Brazilian brands. The participation is promoted through the Brazilian Footwear, footwear exports promotion program developed by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

Paola Pontin, an analyst of Abicalçados' Trade Promotion Unit, will accompany the action. She highlights that there are positive expectations, taking into account that Brazilian brands are already renowned for the participation and that many large buyers already look for them aiming to negotiate.  "The companies that kept participating in Micam even in more difficult moments reaped the rewards. With collections more adjusted to the style favored by European buyers, coupled with the appreciation of the dollar, the trend is that we achieve good results at the event," says Pontin. She also points out that another important fact is that this edition will present spring-summer collections, for which Brazilian footwear is more internationally renowned.

In addition to the trading platform, eight Brazilian brands will be at the fashion show promoted by the fair: Jorge Bischoff, Loucos & Santos, Ramarim, Comfortflex, Dumond, Capodarte, Cecconello, and Werner.
