The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) participated in the 113th Session of the Executive Council of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) which started its works yesterday.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s participation is a continuation of its support for education, culture and science in the Arab world, led by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture who is also Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was represented at the session by Secretary General of the Committee Hattan bin Munir bin Samman, where the procedural items were discussed, and a number of the financial and administrative issues that would improve the ALECSO’s performance were reviewed.
The members of the Council unanimously approved the appointment of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s candidate Dr. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Shwerikh, as Director of the Education Department at the ALECSO, in addition to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s joining as a member of the ALECSO’s financial supervision authority.
The Executive Council meetings also discussed a number of files, issues and projects, and agreed on the executive decisions in the fields of the education, culture and science at the level of the Arab world.
