Jawazat to remain open during Eid holidays

The Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat) announced on Saturday that all its branches and offices in various parts of the Kingdom will be working during the Eid holidays to process emergency and necessary paperwork for citizens and expats.

Jawazat offices and branches will be working from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. during Ramadan and from 8.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. during the Eid holidays, it said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency.

The passport departments at airports, seaports and land entry points will be working around the clock, it said.

New and renewed Saudi passports will be processed through the Absher platform and delivered through Wasel service. Saudis can also receive their passports by visiting Jawazat offices during working hours during the Eid holidays.

The Jawazat urged citizens and expats to take advantage of electronic passports services Absher, Absher Aamal and Muqeem through which most of the services provided by the Directorate General of Passports can be completed electronically. They should visit Jawazat offices only in emergency cases, it said.

Director of Jawazat in Madinah region Maj. Gen. Khlaid Bin Muhammad Al-Huwaish said work will continue in all sections of the Jawazat in the region during the holidays to process emergency cases.
