 Japanese Ambassador to Jordan, Hidenao Yanagi, expressed his country's appreciation and support for Jordan's moderate policy and role in combating terrorism, extremism and violence to achieve regional stability, in addition to its humanitarian role in receiving, hosting and providing services to Syrian refugees.

Speaking at a ceremony held by the Japanese Embassy in Amman on Monday to celebrate the country's Self-Defense Forces Day, the envoy said bilateral ties between Jordan and Japan have been distinguished in all fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations 65 years ago.

The ambassador pointed out to the important visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Japan last year.

The ceremony was attended by a number of military and civilian officials and military attaches in embassies and diplomats serving in Jordan.
