The European Union delegation has organized a monthlong celebration to mark Europe Month in the Kingdom. It includes a two-week exhibition at the King Abdul Aziz Historical Center (National Museum) beginning on May 8.
Jamal Omar, director general of the National Museum in Riyadh, introduced Ambassador Kulach to the press at a well-attended briefing held at the museum’s headquarters on Wednesday.
Announcing the programs at a joint press conference held at the National Museum, Ambassador Adam Kulach, head of the Delegation of the European Union in Riyadh, said on Wednesday that the program in the Kingdom started with a concert at the residence of French Ambassador Bertrand Besancenot in Riyadh on Tuesday.
Kulach said the two-week exhibition on Islamic Art in European museum collections will display a collection of 60 photographs from eight countries at the National Museum. 
“Being the closest region to the Kingdom, EU has plenty of things to share with the Kingdom,” Kulach said, pointing out that the show is organized in cooperation with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and the Ministry of Culture and Information. He explained that all the foreign missions of EU member states based in the Kingdom will take part in various activities during the month.
Under the program, a two-day workshop on European museology and Islamic art in Europe will also be held at the National Museum on May 10. Senior European curators, experts and university professors from Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands will present at the meeting. 
To promote awareness among youths, Kulach said that a soccer tournament will be organized at King Faisal School with the participation of the British, French and King Faisal schools here.
The Embassy of Italy will take part in a series of events, organizing music concerts, movies, conferences and exhibitions.
Italian musicians Gianfranco Bortolato (pianist) and Giovanni Dal Missier (oboist) will perform some of the world-wide known, award-winning Ennio Morricone’s soundtracks on the evening of the opening of the photo exhibition on Islamic art. The event will take place at the National Museum in the capital on May 9. The duo will also perform in concert at the Italian Embassy on May 12.
An Italian expert will deliver several lectures at the National Museum during the workshop on “European Museology and Islamic Art in Europe.”
