Emirates Islamic, a leading Islamic financial institution in the UAE, marked Emirati Women’s Day with a heartening demonstration of female leadership and excellence during a day of celebration under the theme of ‘Women on the Course of Zayed’, as announced by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GW).

Female employees of Emirates Islamic were treated to a rousing speech by inspirational Emirati trailblazer, Dr. Shaikha Al Maskari. As the first woman to work in the field in the UAE’s oil industry, a frequent member of Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Arab Women list, and a noted philanthropist, Dr. Al Maskari represents the powerful impact that Emirati women can have on their community. 

The event also included a demonstration of traditional Emirati abayas and perfumes by renowned boutique owner, Shamsa Al Mehairi, alongside a mini bazaar featuring the works of local women entrepreneurs.
