EITC Women Council Kick-Starts Gender Diversity Agenda with Exclusive EITC Jump Event

The Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) Women Council has recently organised a full-day workshop for female and male professionals in the company, marking 100 days since the Council’s inception. Recognising the 100-day milestone, 100 employees participated in the event, which was held at The Retreat Palm Dubai in Palm Jumeirah.

The Council was established at the beginning of 2019 as part of EITC’s commitment to promote gender diversity in a more balanced workplace. It endeavours to create awareness, encourage discussions and drive positive actions towards building a workplace that supports gender balance, empowering and advancing women within the workplace.

Osman Sultan, CEO, EITC said: “Our workforce has become increasingly diverse over the last decade with employees from different generations, genders, nationalities and cultures working together towards the same goals. With such workforce diversity, it is imperative for us to build an inclusive and harmonious workplace. By recognizing the recent 100-day milestone of the EITC Women Council, we are proud to be promoting gender diversity and working towards maximizing our female employees’ potential.”

Hanan Ahmad, Chairwoman, EITC Women Council, said: “Diverse teams outperform homogeneous teams as they tend to be more creative and effective at problem solving. The main aim of EITC Women Council is to encourage discussions regarding gender balance and drive positive actions towards it in order to build an inclusive and harmonious workplace. This event represents an important start for us to acknowledge 100 days since the Council’s formation, establish the impact diversity has on our organization’s business goals, and stimulate employee engagement and commitment.”

A key outcome of this event is to enhance gender balance within EITC by achieving the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) UAE Bronze Level Gender Balance certification for EITC in the next year, in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the Women Council’s Vision.
