Dubai Customs wins global Platinum Award in CSR leadership in Malaysia

Dubai Customs won the platinum award – CSR Leadership Category at the 11thGlobal CSR Summit and Award 2019 in Malaysia. The two-day event (4th - 5thApril) was organized this year under the theme “A New Era of Corporate Responsibility & Activism”. 

 

The CSR Leadership award is given to an organization which has contributed to the promotion of all aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility, including the environment, sustainability, community partnerships, education and poverty elimination, to name but a few.

 

Dubai Customs beat 100 candidates shortlisted from a list of 400 applications from regional and global companies. 

 

“We are proud of winning this coveted award which indicates our serious commitment towards our social responsibilities and duties.” Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs said “It is not just a theme that we raise, it’s getting to become a daily practice.”

 

Over 300 senior executives from multinational and leading corporations in Asia attended the event and witnessed the awards presentation.  The event was graced by guest of honor, Minister for Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development, YB Dato Sri Hajjah Fatimah Abdullah. 

 

On his part, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department pointed out that Dubai Customs carried out 175 social and voluntary initiatives in 2018, and 30 ones in Q1 2019. During the last three years Dubai Customs launched 600 social corporate initiatives and attained 90% in society happiness. 

 

Bin Gharib said the winning is a reflection of the great contribution of Dubai Customs towards welfare of the local, regional and global societies.
