Dubai Customs visit to “Senses” brings cheer to children of determination

Delegates from Customs Valuation and Corporate Communications Departments in Dubai Customs visited the Senses Centre which takes care of children of determination (special needs). The visit is part of Dubai Customs commitment towards this segment of society. The visitors, through the visit, aimed to draw smiles on the children’s faces and to make a list of their wishes come true.

Dubai Customs supports Dubai strategy to turn the city into a disabled-friendly place by 2020. As part of its operational plan, Dubai Customs always has a number of initiatives and projects in place to serve and support people of determination and integrate them into society. This support included the exemption of medical devices and machines used by people of determination from any customs duties.

Founder and Director General of Senses Centre Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh received the Dubai Customs delegates who were headed by Fareeda Fadhil, Director of Customs Valuation Department.

The visitors distributed gifts in a wish list to the children and took part in a number of functions and activities.

“Our visit is part of our commitment towards a coherent and solid society, and following the vision of our wise leadership of turning the emirate into a disabled-friendly place by 2020. We are proud of the UAE’s achievements in supporting the cause and needs of people of determination” says Fareeda.

Al Sayegh and the team at the centre thanked Dubai Customs for their vital role in protecting society, securing borders and supporting legitimate trade, and for their continual support of people of determination.
