Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, hosted a live performance for children titled ‘The Clowns’ in Hatta Public Library to celebrate the launch of the ‘Hatta Art and Creativity Club’. The event aimed to encourage further liver performances in Hatta and supported the Authority’s mission to established Dubai as a global and sustainable city for creativity, culture, arts and literature.

‘The Clowns’, which has also been performed at the Bani Yas Theatre, is suitable for children between the ages of 6 to 12 and includes new theatrical techniques that are designed to capture their attention throughout the play, including musical performances. The show consisted of many stories that highlighted the importance of culture and art, providing an interactive experience that engaged every child watching and encouraged Hatta’s public school students to participate on stage.

During the opening day of the ‘Hatta Art and Creativity Club’, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture Saeed Al Nabouda opened the ‘From Al Fahidi Neighborhood to Hatta’ photo exhibition, which includes 27 Emirati photographers and will run for a whole month in collaboration with Akaas Visual Arts. The opening day started with a workshop led by photographer Mohammad Al Baloushi on the basics of photography, along with other activities organised in collaboration with Al Sheikha Maitha bint Rashed Al Maktoum for people of determination. The activities aimed to enhance their experience of the club and also provided them with photos as souvenirs.

Dubai Culture launches an array of activities and initiatives aimed at positioning Hatta and other neighbouring areas on the culture and arts map, and further engaging the community in artistic projects and specifically theatrical activities.

Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
