Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in collaboration with the Asareer Volunteer Youth Team and the Red Crescent, organised an orphans day as part of the Asareer initiative, which took an innovative approach to providing humanitarian assistance by bringing together orphans and philanthropists. On Wednesday, 4 September, Al Mankhool Library hosted activities that included a variety of entertainment and educational workshops and exciting competitions. Each orphan was also be accompanied by a Dubai Culture employee to acquire their school needs and stationery that the library provided in one of its halls.

Through organizing this initiative, Dubai Culture aimed at spreading happiness among the children and consolidating the concept of collaboration and cohesion as a culture and way of life, presenting the Emirati model of tolerance to the world.

With the start of the new school year, Dubai Culture chose to bring joy to the hearts of those children by caring for them and providing them with their school needs. The Authority is also keen on enstilling the sense of social responsibility amongst its employees to serve the wider community.

Hala Badri, Director General at Dubai Culture, emphasised that the initiative promoted the community’s commitment to philanthropy through joining hands with various institutions and entities in the country, praising the exceptional efforts of the Asareer Volunteer Youth Team and the Red Crescent. She said: “In the UAE, giving and tolerance are one and the same and are a way of life that is adhered to through meaningful initiatives the nation embraces and continuously launches. Through the Asareer collaboration, we sought to draw a smile on the faces of orphans and urged them to equip themselves with knowledge as they pave the path towards the future."

The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures to enhance Dubai’s position as a creative and sustainable global city for culture, heritage, arts, and literature, with the aim to empower these sectors by developing creative and innovative projects and initiatives locally, regionally, and globally.
