Dubai Culture celebrates Emirati Children’s Day

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts, heritage, and literature, organised a special event to mark Emirati Children’s Day, which falls on 15 March.

This event is a manifestation of Dubai Culture’s belief in the importance of providing an inspiring, conducive environment for fostering children who will shape the future of the UAE.

Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General at Dubai Culture, said: “Dubai Culture joined entities and the community in the UAE to celebrate Emirati Children’s Day and highlight our wise leadership’s vision and sincere efforts to protect children’s rights and provide a safe environment supported by laws and legislation that ensures healthy growth for them across different development stages.”

“Children cover a major part of our corporate goals, especially as they are pillars of our future. This drives us to develop more activities year-round to expand their knowledge base, provide them with valuable information and inspirational experiences, and expand upon their skills through innovative workshops, resulting in higher academic performances.” Al Nabouda added.

Dubai Culture’s celebration of this occasion came in response to the directive issued by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai and the invitation of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood to celebrate Emirati Children's Day. The celebration featured a variety of activities for Emirati children who enjoyed meeting cartoon characters as well as attending art and reading workshops, educational programmes, book signings, and talent shows. The children’s day event is part of the fourth edition of the Reading Box initiative that kicked off on 7 March and will continue until 20 March 2019 at City Centre Mirdif.

Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the UAE’s rich heritage. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures to enhance Dubai's position as a creative and sustainable global city for culture, heritage, arts, and literature, with the aim to empower these sectors by developing creative and innovative projects and initiatives locally, regionally, and globally.
