du empowers female workforce with exclusive Emirati Women’s Day event

 du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), celebrated Emirati Women’s Day at its HQ office in Dubai Hills to recognise the contribution of women across the nation, their influential impact at all levels of society, and their role in the development and advancement of the UAE. Under the theme “Inspiring Reality, Sustainable Future”, the event hosted a special guest – Huda Al Matroushi, who made history in the UAE by becoming the first Emirati female car mechanic to open her own car bodyshop. 

 

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO at du, said: “It is a pleasure to host exclusive celebrations for Emirati Women’s Day at our HQ. With an aim to build an inclusive and harmonious workplace, we focus on equipping Emirati women at du with relevant knowledge and skills, and encourage them to become leaders. We also support entrepreneurial journeys of SMEs to support Emirati women in pursuit of their professional goals and ambitions. Today’s event reiterates du’s commitment to harness our collective energy to enable a diverse and inclusive future.”

 

du is committed to women empowerment and inside and outside the organisation. du Gender Balance Council ensures that female employees are being invested in and offered leadership opportunities. The telco also supports entrepreneurial projects led by Emirati women and help enable SMEs to unlock new potential and enhance their contribution to the local economy through business and networking opportunities.

 

du’s Emirati Women’s Day event gave attendees an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of women in the UAE and reflect on ways to continue to empower them to build an even more inclusive future in the UAE.
