For the Holy Month of Ramadan, Deerfields Mall has launched an initiative to create more awareness on people of determination. In collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent and, the non-profit organization, SEDRA Foundation (Service for Educational Development, Research and Awareness for Inclusion), the campaign’s main objective is to get the community together to donate and support people of determination. 

 

For the entire month of Ramadan, Deerfields Mall has launched the ‘Be a rock’ campaign that invites the community to be a support, a rock for people of determination. Everyone’s invited to the ‘Ramadan Majlis’ at the Main Atrium, where people can make a donation and get a special rock hand-painted by people of determination, or they can participate in a rock art workshop to create a rock art and gift it back to people of determination as a pledge to support them. This activity takes place from Thursdays to Sundays, from 7pm-10pm.  Proceeds of this event goes to Emirates Red Crescent and the SEDRA Foundation. 

 

‘Be a Rock’ campaign is in line with the Year of Tolerance, as Deerfields Mall embodies the message of coexistence and inclusion of people of determination within the society. The collaboration with SEDRA Foundation was ideal as they act as management consultants that help empower children, teenagers and adults with disabilities and their families.

 

Monetary donations are also being accepted at affiliate companies namely One Stop Carwash, Tyreplus and Deerfields Nursery located in Khalifa City and at Saraydan Café located in Deerfields Mall.

 

With the Ramadan Night Souk around the mall and Burjeel Medical Centre providing free weekend health check-ups from 7pm onwards, there's a lot to do for visitors of Deerfields Mall this Ramadan.
