The five-star Bab Al Qasr Hotel and Residences has proudly announced the appointment of Vincent Mercurio as its new General Manager, bringing to the property more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

 

Mercurio, a global hotelier, is a veteran of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for 13 years. During this experience, he held assignments in several countries from Spain, China and his native USA. It was with the company that Mercurio gained his first role as General Manager in 2005 by launching the first new Ritz-Carlton in China (Beijing) establishing a new look and feel to luxury traditional standards and creating benchmarks for the Asian region.

 

In 2007 Mercurio moved back to USA as General Manager for the re-opening and launch of The London West Hollywood in California awarded  #1 World’s Best Large City Hotel in USA and Canada by Travel + Leisure’s in 2010. Four years later in 2011 he moved to Bangkok as General Manager for the multi-award winning property The Conrad Bangkok and Residences in Thailand.

 

Mercurio’ s Middle East experience began with his appointment as General Manager of the five star hotel brand launched by Emaar Hospitality Group, The Address Dubai Mall Hotel and Residences in 2013.

 

In his new role, Mercurio will build upon and greatly enhance the luxury experience and unique offerings at Bab Al Qasr Hotel & Residences Arabic traditions and build its presence on Abu Dhabi's prestigious Corniche neighborhood. Commenting on his appointment, Vincent Mercurio, General Manager of Bab Al Qasr Hotel & residences said, “It is a great honor and challenge to take on the role of General Manager of this prestigious property and look forward to showcase every facet of our Arabic elegance for guests seeking a unique, luxury retreat while visiting the capital of UAE, the amazing Abu Dhabi".  

 

Mercurio brings with him a wealth of international leadership experience in the hospitality industry with more than three decades of experience. A performance driven individual who has set a high standard for service excellence, he has successfully opened, rebranded, and upgraded several five-star properties in competitive and challenging environments, and has worked for multiple world known companies.
