The Saudi Art Council, which organizes Al-‘Obour “The Crossing” Contemporary Art Exhibition at Gold Moor Mall in Jeddah, announced the end of its three-month school visits program.

 

“We are honored to be visited by 15 thousand male and female students from elementary, intermediate and secondary levels. The visits were in coordination with the Ministry of Education to complement the Council’s initiatives in the development of innovation and creativity among schoolchildren,” Dr. Effat Fadag, Curator of the exhibition said.

 

Dr. Fadag expressed her happiness with this great influx of students, noting that their enjoyment and benefit from visiting the exhibition consolidates the role taken by the Saudi Art Council to support and instill the spirit of innovation and creativity in today's generation to create a productive and prosperous future in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030, where innovation is one of the pillars of its economic transformation.
The students were interested in inquiring about the different contents of the exhibition, getting to know the artists involved, discussing their work and taking pictures with them.

 

She added, "This turnout has boosted the success of the exhibition both locally and internationally. The exhibition presented a variety of workshops in various artistic fields, including long-term workshops; presented once a week over the three months, and other one day workshops with one subject focus.
The exhibition was launched on February 6th and was attended by more than 25 artists from Saudi Arabia, GCC, Arab countries and Europe. The exhibition showcased the works of three generations of contemporary artists.
