Acer has introduced new products at its global press conference held in held in New York, where the company announced a range of new devices and solutions for gamers, families, students, and professionals. The brand has revealed the latest updates and new models of its popular Aspire series notebooks as well as the new Spin 3, the latest addition to the Spin convertible notebook series and the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 gaming laptop series, all powered by Windows 10. 

The New Acer Spin 3

The combination of power, value, long battery life, and generous screen size sets the Acer Spin 3 apart. Powered by Windows 10 and up to an 8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor and an optional NVIDIA® GeForce® MX230 GPU, it features a 512GB512 PCIe SSD and up to 1TB of HDD storage, a dockable and rechargeable pen, and enhanced Wi-Fi 5 performance.

Weighing 1.7 kg (3.74 lbs), the new Spin 3 feels light in a bag or briefcase. It features a 9.6 mm (0.38 inches) thin bezel with a 79 percent screen-to-body ratio for more screen real estate on its 360-degree flipping display that can be used as a laptop or tablet. The 360-degree durable hinge is ideal for working, writing, sharing presentations, and gaming. The Spin 3’s 14-inch Full HD IPS[i] touch display allows for input via pen and touch simultaneously, and the Acer Active Pen enables precise and direct on-screen input at multiple points of contact, making working on more complex projects more efficient

Professionals on-the-go can work for up to 12 hours[ii] without recharging the battery, and the dockable Acer Active Pen lets users instantly jot down notes and prevents misplacing them it from getting lost.

Two front-facing speakers deliver clearer and louder sound in any usage mode. The Precision TouchPad supports Windows 10 gestures and allows users to work faster and smoother with accurate fingertip and gesture tracking.

The Acer Aspire 7:

Cool Under Fire

Both the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 feature dual fans, plus Acer CoolBoost™ technology and a dual exhaust port designed to keep the Nitro 7 chilled out during extended gaming sessions. CoolBoost increases fan speed by 10 percent and CPU and GPU cooling by 9 percent compared to auto mode.

Hotkey Control with NitroSense

Users can monitor and manage the Nitro 7 and 5 with NitroSense — an app that’s accessible with one touch of the NitroSense hot key. Once enabled, users can instantly visualize component temperature, loading performance, power usage, and more. It also allows for fan speed monitoring and adjusting in real time, so gamers can customize their speed or set fans to max when the heat is on. Additionally, users can set up a power plan to achieve optimal power usage in different scenarios, or access Acer TrueHarmony’s™ six sound modes, turn sticky keys on or off, and activate the LCD overdrive to bring the display response time down to 3ms3.

Prioritize Gameplay with Killer™ Ethernet and Acer Network Optimizer

Both the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 adopt Killer™ Ethernet E2500 or Acer’s Network Optimizer to prioritize gameplay. Gamers no longer need to worry about video freezes as overall latency performance is improved by up to 25 percent in single application usages, and more than 10x when multitasking. The Ethernet controller automatically detects game, video and chat streams to deliver prioritized bandwidth for a virtually lag-free user experience. When selecting Auto Mode, Acer’s Network Optimizer is able to categorize high-demand programs to dramatically reduce connectivity issues. Alternatively, users can manually determine priority programs, change the bandwidth allocation for each application, or even block specific applications to tune their connection for optimal performance.

Premium Nitro Sound

The new Nitro 7 and updated Nitro 5 have stepped up their audio quality, providing a truly multidimensional experience to gamers by adopting Waves MaxxAudio® advanced sound optimization technologies. MaxxBass®  intelligently boosts tones to deliver thundering lows that users can hear and feel, even on small speakers or headsets.
