55 students win Saed Al-Harthi Prize for excellence in education

Fifty-five outstanding male and female students in different stages of education were awarded the Dr. Saed Bin Saad Al-Orabi Al-Harthi Prize on Tuesday evening.

Khaled Said Al-Harthi won the distinction sword for coming top in the secondary school examinations while the best female student Rahaf Bint Khaled Al-Harthi won a diamond ring.

The prize distribution ceremony at Al-Muraifiq Bani Al-Harith School in Meisan Bani Al-Harith governorate was held under the auspices of Taif Gov. Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al-Muammar and in the presence of Dr. Fahd Al-Orabi Al-Harthi, director of Asbar Center for Studies, Research and Information; Salman Al-Malki, director of the education in southeastern Taif; a number of tribal elders and directors of government departments in the region.

Those who were honored included holders of doctorate, master's and bachelor’s degrees as well as top winners in secondary, intermediate and primary school examinations, apart from part-time students who completed their education while employed as well as Qur’an memorizers. Male and female teachers who served for more than 30 years were also honored.

In a speech on the occasion, the prize's founder Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harthi congratulated the winners for their efforts and outstanding performance. He said the prize is an incentive to the students for their excellence and an encouragement to parents who closely monitor their children's education.

More than 350 outstanding students, Qur’an memorizers, inventors and authors have been honored since the prize was established 11 years ago, Al-Harthi said.
