3M Safety Division Hosts Safety Day on Noise Monitoring and Communication Solutions

3M Personal Safety Division, the world’s leader in safety and protective equipment, has hosted a seminar in Dubai to shed light on 3M’s technology innovation in noise monitoring, personal safety and communication solutions.

The event, which was mainly addressed to players in the oil and gas industry, tackled various topics related to personal safety at work which include effective ways of measuring noise exposure levels by using Sound Examiner, the importance of data logging in reviewing and analyzing sound exposure, the need of selecting the right hearing protection according to noise levels and human needs as well as the ability of doing two-way communications in a noisy environment.

“Noise is one of the major hazards in any working environment and it needs an effective solution to overcome it. It is a vital necessity for workers to be able to communicate with their surroundings whilst at the same time stay protected from harmful noise levels which are often so high that they can cause immediate, permanent damage to the hearing if proper protection is not put in place,” said Abdelmajid Riyadh Awad, Advanced Technical Service Engineer, 3M Gulf.

In line with its commitment to expand and strengthen its operations across the UAE, 3M Gulf has recently established a new Division based in Abu Dhabi. With the introduction of this new division, 3M Gulf now has one customer-facing organization to serve the capital city’s booming industries.

“Armed with innovative technology, 3M provides ingenious solutions for the personal safety industry and our complete portfolio of products, services and solutions addresses today’s challenges of various working environments to enhance workers’ performance and productivity,” said Ted Madison, M.A., CCC-A, Technical Service Specialist, 3M Personal Safety Division.
