2nd Edition of the Social Media Summit This April

Social Media and Tech Heavyweights to Headline
2nd Social Media Summit hosted by AreebaAreeba will gather a powerful list of thought leaders from leading global firms including Facebook, Huawei, Microsoft, Meltwater, Leo Burnett and Yahoo
Dubai, UAE, April xx, 2015: AreebaAreeba, a leading social networking website in the Middle East with more than 5 million active users, announced today it will host the second edition of the annual Social Media Summit on 22 April 2015 at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.
The social media summit which debuted last year with a powerful speaker line-up will once again bring together heavyweights of the social media scene, industry thought leaders and innovators from the world’s top media and technology companies, including Facebook, Huawei, Microsoft, Mindshare, Meltwater, Leo Burnett and Yahoo.
Leading the list of key note speakers at the event is Fernando Anzures, celebrated content marketing consultant and author of the best-selling book “Consumer is the Media.” The summit will combine idea-provoking panels, presentations and networking opportunities from across the social media landscape to help businesses implement innovative and successful social marketing strategies.
“With its exceptional speaker roster and insightful agenda, the 2nd Social Media Summit will provide an opportunity for participants to engage with the world’s most influential marketing experts and discover powerful business-building tactics that will transform their social media approach,” said Ayman Irshaid, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, AreebaAreeba. “The Summit will offer businesses and brands real-world insights on how best to use social media to connect with customers, drive traffic and sales, and create a competitive advantage by evolving into a Social Business.”
He added, “While there is increasing recognition of the value of social media as a critical driver of customer engagement and business growth, many companies in the region still view social media as just another part of their marketing mix. To fully leverage its power, companies must stop viewing social media in isolation and look instead at integrating it into all aspects of their business.”

According to the CMO Council Middle East website, an estimated 40.2% of the total Middle East population accesses the web, with Facebook being the most popular social network with 94% of the region’s social media users.
With the launch of the Arab Social Media Awards by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai last year, there has been a growing focus on creative social media engagement in both the public and private sectors in Dubai. This Summit builds on the overall move towards a smarter, more digitally connected city, one that focuses on constructive social media engagement and productive dialogue.
The 2nd Social Media Summit builds on the resounding success of the inaugural edition in 2014, which brought together leading social media experts from global giants such as Huawei, IBM, Nissan, Microsoft, OSN, Blackberry and DMI.
A one-day conference addressing the toughest challenges facing today’s social media marketers, Social Media Summit 2015 will assemble prominent figures from diverse sectors including Media and Publishing, Advertising and Marketing, and Science and Technology, and is expected to attract more than 300 attendees.
Keynote sessions and panel discussions at this year’s Summit will focus on a wide range of topics relevant to the current needs of social media marketers such as customer service, story-telling and engagement, content creation, scalable video, social media platform optimization and strategy development, the use of analytics to measure ROI (Return on Investment), and the rise of Big Data and mobility.
