Mashroat signs MoU with Saudi Council of Engineers

The National Project Management, Operation, and Maintenance Organization in Public Entities (Mashroat) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) to build capability and skills in the construction sector and ensure regulations follow the best international practice.

It is in line with Mashroat's strategy to standardize the best international practice in the infrastructure and construction sectors. The overall aim is to raise Saudi employees' abilities in construction through strategic partnerships with government entities. The public sector and Mashroat play a pivotal role in leading initiatives that will improve investment in the construction sector.

Director-General of Mashroat Ahmed bin Mutair Al-Balawi said, "The Saudi Council for Engineers is one of the most important professional bodies in Saudi Arabia and is involved with every major construction and infrastructure project ongoing in the Kingdom. The MoU they have signed with Mashroat will see the introduction of joint training workshops for engineers in order to ensure the best international standards are met. It is vital that the construction and infrastructure sectors meet international standards in order to build confidence and enhance competition."

Saudi Council of Engineers Chairman Eng. Saad bin Mohammed Al-Shahrani said the MoU was important for the SCE: "The partnership with Mashroat will have a positive impact on the SCE's development initiatives. It will enable Saudi engineers to manage the large portfolios of the local mega-projects using best professional standards. It will also raise the quality of construction projects in line with Vision 2030."

The National Project Management, Operation, and Maintenance Organization in Public Entities (Mashroat) is the state's enabling arm for infrastructure projects. It provides consultancy and technical support to government agencies in project management, operation, and maintenance in order to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the national infrastructure and ensure the projects are in line with global best practices and meet the ambitious aspirations of Vision 2030.
