Al Jabri: Working 24 creates 65,000 jobs in the retail sector

The head of the logistics committee at the Eastern Chamber, Bandar Al-Jabri, explained that the economic impact of allowing 24 hours of work in the Kingdom is to create about 45,000 jobs in the retail sector and another 20,000 indirect jobs, in addition to providing some 30,000 part-time jobs.

Al-Jabri pointed out that the decision contributes to the increase in commercial activity in small and medium enterprises by between 14% and 16% and increase the number of new establishments by between 5% and 6%, as well as increasing the volume of restaurants by 9% to 11% And equivalent to 68 billion riyals annually.

Al-Jabri added that the decision contributes to the increase of non-oil GDP by 0.25% -0.3%, the GDP growth of the tourism sector by 3.2% and the increase of the economic value of the entertainment sector by 9%, adding that the decision contributes to increase consumer spending including To close to 90-100 billion riyals a year, and to diversify the options available to the consumer at different times, thus contributing to the reduction of inflation rates.
