Emirates Islamic contributes AED 8 million to Tarahum Charity Foundation

Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, has contributed AED 8 million to the Tarahum Charity Foundation, an organisation that provides humanitarian relief to those in need. The contribution, provided through the Emirates Islamic Charity Fund, will be used to provide food, water, medicine and other necessities to help underprivileged families across the UAE.

Commenting on the contribution, Awatif Al Harmoodi, General Manager, Operational Governance, Emirates Islamic, said: “At Emirates Islamic, we firmly believe that providing access to basic human needs such as food, shelter, health and education improves the economic and social well-being of individuals and society as a whole. As a bank that is committed to serving the community in which it operates, it is our privilege to be given this noble opportunity once again this year to lend our support to underprivileged families through Tarahum Foundation, with whom we have been successfully cooperating for a long period of time.”

This Ramadan, the Emirates Islamic Charity Fund, together with Tarahum Charity Foundation, will distribute Meer Ramadan (essential foodstuff and commodities regularly needed during the holy month of Ramadan) to families in need across the UAE.

The Emirates Islamic Charity Fund provides financial aid under several main areas, including food, shelter, health, education and social welfare. The fund was set up with the primary objective of allocation of financial aid to large charities, public and private institutions, as well as individuals in need.
