1.5m jobs created for Saudi youth in 2014

The Ministry of Labor created 1.5 million jobs for young Saudi men and women in 2014, a six percent rise from the previous year.
This is according to Labor Minister Mofarrej Al-Haqbani, who said the ministry has been working on several measures to ensure Saudis are employed, including revising legislation, and setting up skills development programs.

Al-Haqbani, in a report carried by the Saudi Press Agency recently, said that the country’s 85th national celebrations was an opportunity to remember the country’s unification, which was a shining example to people across the Arab and Islamic world.

He said that citizens should also remember that the country’s “brave soldiers” were out on the border armed with Islamic teachings to assist their fellow brethren in Yemen. “We pray that Allah helps them, brings them back safely, and ensures the country enjoys further peace and security.”
He said the nation thanks Allah that the country is stable and prosperous under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, who has introduced several measures to improve the country’s jobs market and economy.
Al-Haqbani said the changes brought about by the king include setting up the Council of Economic and Development Affairs that would coordinate and integrate the activities and projects of the country’s ministries and other agencies.
He said the revamp of how government operates would ensure an economic renaissance that would help fulfill the aspirations and hopes of citizens for a better life.

Al-Haqbani said the country has only been able to achieve peace and security because the government, with the help of Allah, has focused on the needs of citizens. This has been done with a focus on implementing specific strategies and plans, he said.
He said the ministry was determined to continue on a path to ensure the nation has a fully developed knowledge economy, with skilled and productive citizens. This was the focus of the country’s wise leadership, he said.
