Hospital Executives and Clinicians Gather in Dubai to Discuss Latest Trends in Innovative Healthcare IT Solutions

More than 200 hospital executives and clinicians who use InterSystems TrakCare recently gathered at the annual InterSystems TrakCare Customer Meeting, held at the InterContinental hotel in Dubai Festival City. The two-day event was hosted by InterSystems, a global leader in health information technology.

InterSystems TrakCare, a unified health information system, has recently been awarded "Best in KLAS" for Global (non-US) Acute EMR. TrakCare enables coordinated care within a hospital or across care settings throughout a region, and is currently used in over 25 countries across the globe. Clinicians and administrators use TrakCare to improve safety and outcomes and control costs, for example, by eliminating duplicate tests.

The conference featured sessions to highlight the latest TrakCare benefits that the hospitals have realized, ranging from enhancing the quality of care to significant cost savings achieved. A number of engaging workshops focused on future trends in healthcare IT, such as the importance of patient engagement.

A notable highlight from the event was the case study on the “Journey Towards Achieving HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7” presented by King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH), from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. KKESH is the first and only hospital in the Middle East to achieve this global recognition.

InterSystems also held a unique ceremony to honor customers who have achieved exceptional results within their hospitals with the use of InterSystems TrakCare.

“The Middle East is a key market for InterSystems TrakCare, and we have been delivering on our capabilities and promises. This year’s TrakCare Customer Meeting has been a resounding success and we are encouraged by the great success stories presented by our customers,” said Michel Amous, Regional Managing Director, Middle East and India, InterSystems.

John Hoyt, Executive Vice President Emeritus at HIMSS Analytics and a keynote speaker at the event, stated, “KKESH’s achievement of HIMSS Stage 7 is a phenomenal example that we strongly believe will empower more medical institutions in the region to pursue the same level of excellence in the near future.”
