Prince Khaled briefed on SR74 billion projects in Jeddah

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and adviser of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, was briefed on 857 development projects worth a total of SR74 billion allotted to the Jeddah governorate.

These projects included those that have been implemented, under various phases of implementation or awarded over the last five years, the Saudi Press Agency reported.


Presiding over the meeting of the Local Development Council for the Jeddah Governorate on Wednesday, Prince Khaled thanked Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishal Bin Majed and members of the council for realizing this remarkable achievement. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Mishal said Prince Khaled will launch the ambitious Jeddah Electronic Gate Services project in April. He said all the development projects, including roads, sewage, electricity and education projects, will be completed on time and there will be no delay in their implementation. Prince Mishal said new sewage projects will be announced shortly.

According to the governor, the Ministry of Transport implemented 38 road projects in the region over the last five years. Three major power generation plants and 71 transformer projects were implemented in the last four years, and approvals were given to another six power plants and 74 transformers.

A total of 185 water and sewage projects were implemented during the last five years. Several hospital projects and 254 education projects were also implemented, Prince Mishal said.
