|GRAND LANGE 1: A Grand highlight at Jewellery Arabia 2012
Renowned German watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne presented two of its latest masterpieces at the 2012 edition of Jewellery Arabia. Visitors to the fair were invited to experience the finest in precision watchmaking with the new GRAND LANGE 1 and SAXONIA THIN. The GRAND LANGE 1 of the iconic LANGE 1 family has altered dimensions and an entirely new movement, specially crafted to transpose the graceful dial architecture of the LANGE 1 to the perceptibly larger model. The SAXONIA THIN, now in white gold, is A. Lange & Söhne’s thinnest watch. Also on display during the exhibition were highly sought after timepieces from the brands existing collection.
“Collectors and connoisseurs in the region wait the whole year for Jewellery Arabia to experience our new timepieces. We are proud to be present once again this year, supporting the ever expanding regional horological scene by showcasing two key novelties of the year and sharing our precision watchmaking knowledge with enthusiasts,” said Matthieu Dupont, Regional Brand Director, A. Lange & Söhne.
Both of the LANGE 1 and SAXONIA families were part of the first collection of 4 watches that
A. Lange & Söhne presented in 1994. Since it premiered, the LANGE 1 has become not only the strong foundation of a successful watch family, but a benchmark for many of the manufactory’s other developments – such as the new GRAND LANGE 1. Developed from scratch, the new movement makes it possible to rebalance the proportions of the classic timepiece, whilst slimming the silhouette through engineering prowess that the brand is so renowned for. Last year, the SAXONIA watch family was reinvented – and enriched by a new model: the SAXONIA THIN.. Measuring a mere 5.9 millimetres in height, the SAXONIA THIN is A. Lange & Söhne’s slimmest watch. Previously available only in pink gold, 2012 saw the addition of a white gold version to the SAXONIA family.
Both of these models reinforce A. Lange & Söhne’s standing at the pinnacle of fine horology, are a true testament to the manufactory’s commitment to an uncompromised quest for horological perfection.
