|Nitaqat puts poultry sector in a tight spot
he Ministry of Labor has decided to reduce Saudization targets for the poultry sector due to the scarcity of Saudi labor in this sector, said the chairman of the Poultry Producers Committee.
The committee contacted the Ministry of Labor and explained to them the difficulties this sector faces in meeting Saudization targets, added Abdullah Qadhi.
He said: "We told them it is difficult to attract Saudi youth to this sector. They agreed with us and decided to reduce Saudization targets."
Qadhi also said the poultry sector still suffers from a huge shortage in labor despite the fact that the pressure to hire nationals has been reduced.
Radhi Al-Naghmoosh, an investor, said the ministry's Nitaqat program has put this sector in a tight spot. He asked the ministry to reconsider its decisions as investors face difficulties in finding Saudi labor.
