|“EMBALLAGE 2012”: The 40th edition aims at attracting purchasers and professionals from the United Arab Emirates and the region
The 40th edition of the international “EMBALLAGE” trade fair will take place from 19 to 22 November 2012, at the Parc des Expositions, Paris Nord Villepinte, France. The trade fair, which aims at attracting more visitors from the Persian Gulf region, and especially the United Arab Emirates, will present a comprehensive range of products, from packaging, marking-coding or printing machines to the finished product. 1,300 exhibitors (48 % coming from abroad) and approximately 89,000 visitors are expected.
For the 2nd time, the trade fair will include a “Dubai pavilion” organised by Dubai Exports. “Exhibiting in 'EMBALLAGE 2010' allowed us to develop business contacts with North Africa professionals”, says Rami RABIA, Senior Exporter Relations Officer of Dubai Exports. Further to this positive experience, the organiser of the pavilion has decided to increase its surface by 30 % this year.
Véronique Sestrières, Supervisor of the trade fair, adds: “Middle-East countries, especially the United Arab Emirates, are among the most important areas for our exhibitors, due to the tremendous development of the packaging trade in this region and a significant demand from local agri-food operators, which is increasingly taking European regulation requirements into account”.
The United Arab Emirates is positioning itself as a re-exporting hub for packaging equipment in the region. Importations of packaging equipment and machinery (customs nomenclature: 842240) amounted to € 14 million in 2010 in the United Arab Emirates. Their main suppliers are: Italy (19 %), followed by Germany (16 %) and the Netherlands (13 %). France is in 15th position with 0.8 % market shares, after Belgium and Switzerland, and thus intends to reinforce its position on this market.
Importations of filling, plugging and labelling machines and apparatuses (customs nomenclature: 842230) amounted to € 33.8 million in 2011. An outstanding increase in the number of customers compared to 2010 was noted in this sector.
“EMBALLAGE 2012”: A key event for Middle-East professionals
In these 4 days, all the innovations and skills of the packaging industry will be exhibited, in the form of solutions meeting all the requirements of a packaging line, from raw materials to the finished product, including packaging machines and related services, such as marking, coding, labels and printing systems. The solutions offered by the exhibitors present in the trade fair, boosted by international leaders, mainly attract European professionals and purchasers from African and Middle-East countries.
A trade fair customised to every industry
“EMBALLAGE” is a general trade fair, with a multi-industry offer, but it strengthens its “trade fairs within the trade fair” strategy. With a reinforced on- and off-line cross-sectorial communication carried out upstream with major user business communities, specific visiting tools, dedicated conferences and specific sign posts in halls (Beverages & Liquids, Food, Luxury, Beauty, Health, Multi-Industry), this new edition proposes a customised offer for every industry.
