The marketplace has long been an integral part of Middle Eastern culture and today the Middle East is home to some of the largest and most advanced enclosed malls and shopping centres in the world. In order to acknowledge the outstanding marketing, retail, and design and development achievements made by centres in the region, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) host the Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards, which today opened for submissions (http://www.icsc.org/menaawards/). The award winner’s presentation will be held during RECon Middle East & North Africa (MENA) 2012, taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from November 11-13, 2012. RECon MENA is the largest gathering of shopping centre professionals in the region who meet for education, networking, and to promote new regional developments.
“ICSC is proud of its tradition of awarding the exceptional ingenuity shown by shopping centres and shopping centre professionals from around the world,” said Michael P. Kercheval, president and CEO of ICSC. “Through last year’s Middle East and North Africa inaugural awards program ICSC extended that tradition to the Middle East and North Africa with resounding success, and we look forward to seeing the new and innovative programs that centres in the region instituted over the past year.”

and must include a fully completed entry form as well as a detailed entry summary. Additional supporting materials can be uploaded in the indicated sections.
