ZTE and Telcel Launch Blade V6 for Latin America at Campus Party

ZTE, a leading global mobile device maker, today at Campus Party launched the ZTE Blade V6 with carrier partner Telcel. The ZTE Blade V6 is the first ever mobile phone to launch at Campus Party, where it was revealed to ‘Campuseros’ (hackers, developers, gamers and geeks) at an exclusive launch event.

The ZTE Blade V6 is the latest and thinnest device in ZTE’s affordable premium Blade series, and was first unveiled last week at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2015 (announced as the ‘Blade D6’). At the Campus Party launch event, young and excited Campuseros were able to network with each other and test out the new Blade V6 in the innovative “ZTE Drone Zone”.

Speaking at the event, Oscar Lara, VP of ZTE, said: “Our long-term goal has always been for every Mexican to own a ZTE smartphone, ever since we first set foot in the Mexican market. We are getting closer and closer to achieving this goal, and we’re doing so by offering great handsets with competitive features that deliver benefits beyond their price brackets.”

“Telcel is proud and eager to further our strategic partnership with ZTE, now offering to our customers this new smartphone that provides top quality at an affordable price. We are certain that this handset will make more people use the Telcel 4G Network and enjoy all the benefits of the fastest network with the largest coverage,” said Marcos Linares, Subdirector of Corporate Marketing at Telcel.

Through its partnership with Telcel, ZTE is able to make the Blade V6 widely available to customers, offering Telcel’s 4G network on an affordable premium handset that packs the latest specifications and hardware.

The ZTE Blade V6 will be available both as pay-as-you-go and on all Telcel plans.

Following its launch in Mexico, the Blade V6 will be made available in Spain, Germany, Russia, Australia and Japan in the second half of this year.
