CEO of Al Salem Johnson Controls (YORK), Dr. Mohanad Alshaikh, recently revealed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Technical and Vocational Training Cooperation in the Makkah Region, worth SAR 6 million. This comes as a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program with the objective to train 80 students from Jeddah College of Technology. The initiative is in line with Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020 with the objective to localize the industries with Saudi youth.

The signing ceremony was held during the graduation of Jeddah College of Technology students under the patronage of the governor of Jeddah, His Royal Highness, Prince Mishaal bin Majid bin Abdulaziz. The Technical and Vocational Training Cooperation was represented by the Training Director for Makkah Region, Faisal bin Aqeel bin Kaddasah, and Al Salem Johnson Controls (YORK) was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohanad Alshaikh. 

During the occasion, Mr. Faisal Kaddasah emphasized the importance of the training program offered by Al Salem Johnson Controls (YORK), which will be given to students at both the Technical College, and YORK’s Factory in Jeddah. The training is set to develop their academic, practical, and professional experience in the HVAC-R sector. He further added, “The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding will achieve the qualitative integration envisaged by the Kingdom’s leadership between the public and private sectors, to realize the objectives of Vision 2030 by integrating young Saudi cadres into the advanced industries.”

On his part, Dr. Mohanad Alshaikh pointed out that the MoU is within the framework of the company’s contribution to uplift the Saudi talent within the HVAC-R sector, through a holistic program that starts with during their college education, including summer training, for the purpose of developing and refining their skills and capabilities. The company will also offer incentives for the college graduates; such as employment upon graduation after the completion of comprehensive evaluation.

Alshaikh also mentioned that “The MoU is in line with Al Salem Johnson Controls (YORK) policies to qualify and attract the Saudi Cadres and foster their talents. We have identified several areas of cooperation with the Jeddah College of Technology to promote the employment of Saudis in the private sector and the establishment of joint training programs between the parties.” He further added, “Our company has implemented several training programs in collaboration with several colleges and universities in the Kingdom for highly qualified students in the industrial and technical fields, in addition to marketing, finance, administrative and other fields.”
