“YORK” enters a strategic partnership with “Jeddah Neighbourhood Centers”

Al Salem Johnson Controls “YORK”, a leading provider of HVAC equipment, security systems, and controls, recently announced its strategic partnership with the “Association of Neighbourhood Centers in Jeddah”.  The partnership is part of the company’s social responsibility commitment to sponsor initiatives and activities that serve the local community, particularly programmes aimed at developing youth and building their skills.

 

Under this partnership, Al Salem Johnson Controls installed several YORK air conditioning units to selected centres and completely furnished one of the centers. In addition, the company liaised with the “Association of Neighbourhood Centers in Jeddah” to provide YORK air conditioning units to families in need, as part of the company’s social responsibility commitment to provide the opportunities and serve the local community the best way possible. Furthermore, the company partnered with the “Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in Jeddah (TVTC)”, granting the Saudi technician students who have reached their operational and practical training phase the chance to install the donated YORK A/C units at the receiving needy families’ homes, under the supervision of YORK’s technicians.

 

The highlight of this strategic partnership with the Association of Neighbourhood Centers in Jeddah is YORK’s sponsorship of the 9th football tournament 2016/2017. This is an annual tournament organized by the Association, where teams from Jeddah, Kholais, Dahaban, Thuwal, and Sa’abar participate, with aim to encourage and motivate youths to play sports in organised activities.

 

The tournament has gained popularity over the years. The 8th tournament in 2015 was organized under “Sports without Bigotry”, and attracted more than 125,000 fans, with the participation of 5,000 players, and 100 referees. 164 teams competed in the preliminary rounds, and 24 made it to the final round. King Abdullah Sports City (Al-Jawhara) hosted the final match. In 2016, more than 200 teams, including 6,000 players, administrative coordinators, and organizers, participated in the preliminary phase which was held across 12 stadiums in Jeddah.

 

Dr. Mohanad Alshaikh, CEO of Al Salem Johnson Controls and member of the Board of Directors of the “Association of Neighbourhood Centers in Jeddah”, commented: “Al Salem Johnson Controls is committed to serving the local community and supporting programmes and activities that develop the skills of youth, whose role is key to social development and the future of the nation. On another note, the Secretary General of the “Association of Neighbourhood Centers in Jeddah”, Eng. Hassan Al Zahrani said: “The Association organizes a wide range of activities to serve the local community and the JCC residents, with a focus on youth. It seeks to improve their capabilities and skills in terms of education and culture, behaviour and conduct, sports, and recreational entertainment. Its scouting, social, and sports programmes, equip and prepare the youth for life challenges.  Al Salem Johnson Controls is a leader of local community service, and we are happy with our partnership, which will contribute to the betterment of the society.”
