Value of 5 halala coin transactions soars over SR2.12m in November

The value of transactions of 5 halala coins has increased markedly to over SR2.12 million by the end of November, 2018. This figure registered an increase of 1,796 percent compared to SR111,761 at the end of Nov. 2017, according to a recent report of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA).

The value of transactions of coins in the denomination of 50-halala jumped to SR50 million for the first time, reaching SR 51.44 million, up 414 percent from SR9.99 million in the same period last year when it stood at SR9.99 million. The circulation of one halala coin soared by 3004 percent, bringing the total value traded in the market to SR244,246 from SR7,868 at the end of Nov. 2017.

The circulation of the newly introduced coin of SR2 soared 367 percent to SR 38.38 million compared to SR 8.23 million in November 2017. The circulation of 10 halala coin shot up 2,500 percent, reaching SR4.52 million from SR173,739 during the same period.

Moreover, the total value of SR1 in circulation reached SR64.82 million from SR8.62 million, a rise of 652 percent. The 25 halala coin registered an increase of 474 percent, reaching the total value SR23.59 million from SR4.11 million.
