Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Company (MYNM), the authorized retailer for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the arrival of the New Range Rover Velar across its showrooms. The fourth member of the Range Rover family made its debut at a glittering launch event held at the MYNM Land Rover showroom in Jeddah and was attended by media representatives and specially invited guests.

Offering a combination of luxury, refinement and all terrain capability at levels never before seen in the mid-size luxury SUV segment, Velar’s styling displays an elegant simplicity. This visually reductive approach to its design is complemented by pioneering consumer technology and a wide choice of engine and a range of trim options.

Design: balanced, powerful

Velar’s designers started with a clean sheet using Jaguar Land Rover’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture. The result of their efforts is a vehicle which is the standout design in its class, with powerful, taut surfaces and a stunning silhouette further enhanced by its large alloy wheels, particularly the range of 22-inch designs. Advanced technology in the form of slender LED headlights and flush deployable door handles serve to accentuate Velar’s reductive, sculpted form while contributing to its drag coefficient of 0.32, the lowest of any Land Rover ever produced.

The reductive theme continues in the interior where the number of switches is kept to an absolute minimum, creating an elegant, clutter-free inner sanctum, the centrepiece of which is the new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system. Featuring two 10-inch high-definition touch screens integrated seamlessly behind secret-until-lit surfaces, these slim, intuitive displays sit harmoniously within the cabin architecture.  In terms of practicality, the Velar’s luggage compartment volume is an impressive 673-litres.

Advanced engineering for every application

Velar benefits from a sophisticated all-wheel drive system paired with four-corner air suspension and a suite of traction technologies which combine to deliver world-class all-terrain capability. A choice of six petrol engines in four and six-cylinder configurations are mated to a smooth-shifting ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The engines range from a frugal 250PS four-cylinder 2.0-litre (Turbo) unit in R-Dynamic S model, [STS1] to a supercharged 380PS 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine in R-Dynamic SE model[STS2] , that enables the car  to reach 100km/h from a standing start in just 5.7 seconds. 

During its initial year of production, a First Edition model will be sold in limited numbers. Using only the V6 supercharged petrol engine, this highly desirable model boasts a wealth of extra features and comes in one of three exclusive colours which are hand-sprayed at the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations Technical Centre in the UK.

The New Range Rover Velar is now available for viewing, test-drive and order at Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Company at Jaguar Land Rover showrooms across Saudi Arabia.
