The 12th edition of Dubai WoodShow to raise its curtains tomorrow (Tuesday, March 7th 2017)

The stage is set as Dubai WoodShow 2017, makes its way to its 12th edition. As the region’s first-of-its-kind, Dubai WoodShow will begin on March 7th and run until the March 9th in Dubai at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

As noted by the organisers of the show, this year’s edition is expected to be the largest ever, featuring global exhibitors and visitors. The show is spread across 17388 square meters as compared to 13680 square meters in its last edition.

 

Dawood Al Shezawi, Chairman, Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, organisers of Dubai WoodShow said that this year’s edition will grow by 20 per cent as compared to the last edition. 300 exhibitors from 100 countries will participate at the show.

 

Al Shezawi said the two main drivers that have led to the growth  of Dubai WoodShow are - increasing growth in the international wood market which is expected to exceed USD 30 billion and the on-going growth in the UAE market driven by a number of construction and real estate projects. In addition, Dubai WoodShow has developed repute in the past few years, making it the most-sought industry event in the region and across the world.

 

“The 12th edition of the Dubai WoodShow has a lot in store for exhibitors, visitors and decision makers. In Dubai, innovation is a way of life, and this is reflected in each edition of the show. Over the years, Dubai WoodShow has offered some of the best and unique strategies for the industry veterans.  This has not only spelt success for the industry professionals, but also the show which has witnessed record participation in all its editions. We are confident that the positive momentum will continue even this year with an increasing number of global participants and visitors attending the show,” added Al Shezawi.

 

The Dubai WoodShow for the first time hosted the International Technical Tropical Timber Association (ATIBT) Forum held from March 4th to 6th 2017. Hosting the Forum has not only reconfirmed the show’s innovative line of offerings, but also reinstated WoodShow’s commitment to the environmental issues and sustainability concerns.

The exhibitors exhibiting at the Dubai WoodShow comprise of top international players including -Jaf Group from Austria, Cord Kind from Canada, Qingdao Top P&Q Woods from China, Metsa Wood from Finland, Imos AG from Germany, Hillwood Group from India, Euro Trading Company SIA from Latvia, Daiken Corporation from Singapore, Olam International Limited from Switzerland, SIMCO from UAE, NINA from USA among several other local and international companies.

To add a special touch to this year’s show, the organisers of Dubai WoodShow will also run the first edition of Dubai International Furniture Accessories & Components & Semi-Finished Products Show (DIFAC). The industry-specific show will offer participants a platform to have a dialogue and discuss varied best practices governing the furniture industry. “With a host of new offerings at the show, we expect this year’s edition to be a success. We are anticipating more than 10000 visitors during the three days of the show. While the exhibitors will have an opportunity to showcase their latest products and innovations on a global platform, the show will also serve as a communication forum for visitors. With the market experiencing a surge, Dubai WoodShow is certainly one of the most prominent industry shows,” concluded Al Shezawi.
