Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa, one of the Heritage recognized hotel brands, located in the cultural district of Bur Dubai, will celebrate Thailand’s Songkran New Year and invites residents and guests who love to immerse themselves in local culture to experience the festival in style.
 
The Chinese Dynasty Restaurant at Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa will host the festivities from April 13 to April 17 with a full line-up of culinary journey specially prepared by the hotel’s culinary team. The highlight of the feast is the rich spread of traditional Thai dishes such as Golden Fried homemade Vegetable Spring Roll, Stir Fried Jumbo Prawns with tamarind sauce, Chicken in Yellow Curry Sauce, Stir Fried Morning Glory with Garlic Sauce, Steamed Fish with Lemon Sauce, Stir Fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts, and more of your favorite Thai dishes. The famous Sticky Rice with Mango or Coconut Custard for dessert is available to complete the delicious meal.
 
Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year, which starts on 13 April every year. The festival is typically filled with fun celebrations that last for three days. It is also called the “Water Festival”.  Water is believed to flow and wash away all unfortunate luck during this time. Thus, it is an ideal time for cleaning houses, villages, temples and spirit houses. Songkran is synonymous with the act of gently pouring water on the shoulders of elders, family members and friends. While this version of water cleansing is still practiced today, it has also transformed into full-scale water battles, where anybody and everybody participates in a fair game of water drenching using water pistols, hoses and even buckets.
