“The flag of the United Arab Emirates is not just a painted banner, color fabric, symbol, nor a logo. It is best embodied in the vibrant heart that beats in our chests and the undivided love engraved deep into our souls. It’s the true manifestation of our readiness to sacrifice our souls and blood for the sake of its honor and dignity.”

 

These words sums up briefly how His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, views the meaning of our flag and the symbol it represents to us. This is what we learned from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founding rulers. We will therefore, continue in cultivating the seeds of loyalty and allegiance to our beloved homeland--its values, union, and borders. Honoring it, we shall always keep it raised high in all the fields of development and prosperity, solemnly pledging to fully remain true to what it implies by bringing happiness to the nationals and expatriates living on its soil, which will always remain the soil of giving, peace, tolerance and prestige. It will always remain the sanctuary of security, safety, and human dignity. May our flag remain raised so high, lofty and highly dignified!

 

Flag Day comes to unite and bring together the people of the UAE and its directive to feel the warm bond of patriotism and unity under the banner of prosperity, growth and giving. It coincides with the anniversary of the assumption of command of the UAE by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE on the 3rd of November. In this historic monumental occasion, we at the Dubai Courts reaffirm our commitment to great leadership and shall remain forever true to the process of development and giving and vow in sparing no efforts to continue defending and preserving the dignity, honor, prosperity, security and social stability of our nation. We also recommit our pledge to remain on the path of excellence in spreading justice, and realizing the right of every national and resident to justice, equality, equity, security, and equal opportunity on the soil of the United Arab Emirates.

 

Finally, as we raise our flag so high, we take the pride in all the achievements that the sons and daughters of the UAE have accomplished from national gains, paying homage to the sacrifices of our armed forces in defending the borders to ensure security, safety and social stability.
