SEDCO Capital Discusses The Global Real Estate Market at the London Islamic Finance Forum

SEDCO Capital, one of the largest asset managers in Saudi Arabia, this month participated in the Islamic Finance Forum to discuss the changing trends in the Global Real Estate Market.

Aly Meghani, Vice President of International Real Estate at SEDCO Capital UK, was invited to speak on a panel entitled The Global Real Estate Market: Who’s investing, in what and where? The discussion focused on the main considerations for global real estate investors, sources of capital and the macroeconomic and geopolitical risks impacting decision making.

Mr Meghani said: “Real estate remains attractive for Middle Eastern investors seeking portfolio diversification and a hedge against inflation. Despite the uncertainty and headwinds from Brexit, a weaker currency coupled with a transparent market and strong legal system, provides compelling investment opportunities. We are actively deploying capital in the UK, Continental Europe and the US on behalf of our clients, who have appetite for long dated income and capital preservation.”

The Forum, which took place at Mansion House in London, included several panels focusing on trends in Global Real Estate and Islamic Finance. Panel topics included: evaluating options for Shariah compliant real estate structures, the regulatory environment affecting real estate transactions, opportunities in the US for real estate investors and how equity crowdfunding and propTech are altering the real estate landscape.

SEDCO Capital owns and manages a diverse and extensive portfolio of high quality global real estate, ranging from secure, long-term income producing assets in major markets around the world to select high yield and value-add investment opportunities in key markets of interest offering significant capital growth over the near to medium terms.
