RAK Ruler Pardons 302 Prisoners on Occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan

On the occasion of The Holy Month of Ramadan and in the spirit of the Year of Zayed, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), has ordered the release of 302 prisoners from the punitive and reformative institutions in the Emirate, who were convicted by RAK Courts with definitive sentences. 

The generous gesture is part of His Highness’s keenness to grant pardoned prisoners a new lease of life, and ease the suffering of their families. 

 

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the RAK Judicial Council, instructed the initiation of the required procedures to execute the order issued by His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and release the pardoned prisoners in collaboration with the RAK Police General Headquarters before the beginning of the Holy Month.

 

Hassan Saeed Mohaimed, Attorney-General of RAK, said that the gesture of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, illustrates His Highness’s compassion and keeness to grant the pardoned prisoners an opportunity for social integration, and bring joy and happiness to their families in the Holy Month.

 

The Attorney-General expressed his deepest gratitude toHis Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi for the order that will bring happiness to the families waiting to meet their beloved members. Mohaimed also thanked His Highness Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the RAK Judicial Council for his constant and continuous follow up forPublic Prosecution and Judiciary in the Emirate.
