Petromin, the leading company in lubricants and automotive services in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, launched its first Marathon in line with Petromin’s celebration of first year as Nissan kingdom-wide authorized dealer. The Event was organized in collaboration with “Khayrokom” Charity Society in Jeddah and Jeddah Races Sports.

Reflecting Petromin’s contribution to society that is represented in its Wellness Program, “Petromin Marathon” has been organized to encourage the culture of sports in the whole society. The Marathon which took place on Saturday May 6, 2017 has attracted huge levels of interest where more than 500 participants competed on a distance length, ranged between 1000- 4000 meters.

Participants were classified into three groups; Petromin’s Path from age of 18 and above with a race distance of 4000 meters and the first winner was Hassan Al Yamy. The Youth Group with and first winner was Salman Aly Al Ahdal. The junior group at Petromin Express Path and the first winner was Abdul Aziz Aly Muhammad.

An honoring ceremony took place at Red Sea Mall in Jeddah on Wednesday May 10th to recognize the first ten winners of each group; in addition, all entrants who managed to complete the Marathon were given the chance to be enrolled into a lucky draw to win a brand new Nissan sunny car from Petromin Nissan and the winner was a Saudi years old child, Muhannad Ameen Almuallad.

On behalf of Mr. Samir Nawar CEO of Petromin, in a speech addressed to the audience, Mr. Amro Gushaah said: “We are pleased to be here today to celebrate winners of Petromin’s first Marathon that comes in line with Petromin’s first anniversary celebration of being Nissan’s kingdom-wide authorized dealer and Petromin’s keenness on better health for everyone as one of its priorities towards the society and its employees as well. The wide interest Petromin Marathon received is reflected in the large numbers and enthusiasm of participants and we believe that it has encouraged them to become healthier and physically active”.

Mr. Samir stated that Petromin will carry on with all possible efforts to build the marathon into a big annual event and to bring it on top of sports’ events in Jeddah.
