Oman Air Hosts Major Meeting of Sultanate’s CEOs

Oman Air hosted a major meeting in Muscat which brought together a large number of Omani public and private sector chief executives. The aim of the meeting - which was initiated following a suggestion by Oman Air’s Chairman, His Excellency Darwish Al Balushi - was to look for ways to improve business methods, policies and systems and to encourage further investment in the economy of the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman Air’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Gregorowitsch, opened the event by welcoming the guests and thanking them for taking part. He went on to encourage delegates to address the challenges currently facing the nation, its economy and its business sector. He further expressed the hope that delegates would establish a unified and positive vision that both addressed the aspirations of all parties and maintained a focus on quality.

Following the meeting, Mr. Gregorowitsch commented:

“Oman – and, indeed, the entire GCC region - currently faces significant economic challenges. The key to overcoming those challenges is a strong and productive partnership between the country’s public and private sectors. By working together, learning from each other’s experiences and drawing on the vast amount of expertise available within each sector, we can make an important contribution to ensuring that the Omani economy remains strong and resilient. The initiative taken by His Excellency Darwish Bin Ismail Al Balushi therefore met a great response.

“So Oman Air was honored to welcome so many distinguished and eminent leaders from a wide range of Government departments and businesses. Delegates entered into a healthy debate and robust exchange of ideas on such crucial areas as workforce effectiveness, enhancing competitiveness, improving efficiency and developing purchasing synergies.

“The findings that we jointly arrived at, together with those developed by working groups which will meet following this meeting, will be presented to high ranking Government officials. We hope that our contribution assists Oman’s regulatory authorities in developing their policies and deciding on future action.”
