MoH plans changes at top; all eyes on Al-Munis

Health Minister Khalid Al-Falih is expected to announce changes in directors of health affairs across the Kingdom, which will include a decision on Saleh Saad Al-Munis, director general of health affairs in Najran.
Citizens have requested the Ministry to reveal the result of the investigation into Al-Munis’ alleged rude behavior. The Follow-Up Committee at the Ministry of Health completed its investigation last week, after questioning all the individuals who appeared in a video showing Al-Munis in a heated verbal duel with a young female employee and her mother.
The video was reportedly recorded by the brother of the employee, who was accompanied by her mother in the office of Al-Munis seeking a transfer to Tabuk.
According to Mohammed Abdo Al-Beeshi, the employee’s brother, the committee inquired about his connection with some media and human rights figures, including rights activist Ali Al-Hattab, but he said that he does not have any links with them.
“While Al-Munis has accused my mother of spitting and insulting him prior to my sister requesting her transfer, I made it clear to the investigators that the videoclip has captured the entire incident and shows that we were kicked out of his office,” he said.
Meanwhile, Al-Hattab said he was surprised to see his name drawn into the controversy and threatened to file an official complaint. He has demanded proof of his connection to the family of the said employee, and said that he was not aware of the incident until the video went viral on social media.
