Mobily’s CBO: Telecom Operators Play Pivotal Role In Cities Transformation

Mobily’s Chief Business Officer, Mr. Ismail AlGhamdi said that there is a noticeable demographic change worldwide especially in the last two decades. Whereas migration to urban areas made a pressure on infrastructure and services in those areas which caused in raising the demand on advanced telecom solutions to contribute effectively in solving some of these challenges.

 

That came in the context of AlGhamdi participation as a main speaker in Municipality Excellence & Expansion Summit  which was held recently in Rafal Kempinski Hotel in Riyadh, under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer AbdulLatif Al-Sheikh Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs.

 

AlGhamdi stressed on the Mobily’s role in Cities Transformation, and the importance of transforming into smart cities, which follows it in implementing (IoT) technologies which will contribute in providing technical solutions to some challenges in Health Care Services, Power solutions, Transportation, and Industries, to improve logistic support and traffic by creating smart roads; and other daily life services. 

 

Mr. Alghamidi concluded, “the objectives of 2030 Saudi vision is clear and requires major development in the provided services. Therefore, the digital innovation becomes a necessity more than ever to boost the economy wheel. Municipalities will play a big role in cities transformation and analyzing big data to produce a new generation of user-adaptable services.”

 

Mobily’s participation in Municipality Excellence & Expansion Summit comes out of its belief in Government & Private Sector integration; especially that municipality services affects citizens’ & expats’ life directly. Since Mobily is a pioneer telecom operator in the Kingdom, it can contribute in cities transformation and facilitates many services by collaborating with the Ministry Of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
