LG Electronics (LG) recently showcased an astonishing project it completed with its latest NeoChef™ microwave oven. The company collaborated with Daniel Les, the renowned ceramic artist from Romania, to bake splendid pottery pieces using LG’s new microwave oven with Smart Inverter technology. Thanks to this innovative technology, creating beautiful and durable porcelains of various shapes and sizes.

 

This project started with a simple question: can beautiful pottery be baked without relying on the traditional fire and kiln approach? Normally, porcelain preparation requires painstaking effort in order to ensure that uniform baking occurs across the entire piece. In order to achieve this, porcelain must be kept in the kiln for a whole night with a steady amount of heat. 

 

“When LG first suggested this project, I thought it would be impossible to create porcelain using a microwave oven. After all, the most important factor when baking pottery is controlling the amount of heat that goes into it,” said Daniel Les. “If the NeoChef™ microwave oven can’t disperse the heat evenly throughout the clay, the porcelain would ultimately break. However, with the oven’s Smart Inverter technology, which offers powerful and precise control of heat, I thought it could be possible.”

 

 

Accordingly, constant attention must be paid to keeping the heat stable and uniform. However, the NeoChef™ was able to craft perfect porcelains with its advanced Smart Inverter technology, using linear power control with a range between 300 to 1200 watts for even, powerful, and precise heating. Featuring 1200 watts of maximum power, the microwave oven cooks faster than conventional models. This project proved to be a testament to LG’s unbeatable technology, as many different ceramic bowls and plates were effortlessly created using seven NeoChef™ microwave ovens.

 

After a successful collaboration, LG and Daniel Les used the pottery they made to cook delightful dishes in the oven as well. The advanced Smart Inverter technology embedded in the NeoChef™ enables users to prepare culinary meals on a professional level. For example, the microwave can be used to proof dough, melt ingredients like chocolate and butter, and make a variety of other foods with specialized settings such as yogurt and healthy fries1with low oil.

The glossy front, along with the refined matte exterior gives the microwave oven a distinguished and sophisticated look.
