Latifa bint Mohammed visits PCFC’s stand at DIGAE, hails state-of-art initiatives

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority visited the stand of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) at the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition (DGAE) and was briefed by Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department and Eman Bader Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Declarations Management. on the initiatives of Dubai Customs that are designed to support a successful staging of Expo 2020.

Dubai Customs took part in the exhibition with 21 initiatives aimed at supporting the Expo, including Advanced Container Scanning System, Integrated Inspection System, ATA Carnet, Claim & Refund, Authorized Economic Program, Post Clearance Audit, I Declare, E-Integrated Goods Clearance Operation, Business 2 Government, Virtual Corridor, Smart Workspace, Smart Risk Engine, among others.

Her Highness hailed PCFC’s stand themed ‘Gateway to making the future’ and praised its cutting-edge innovations and initiatives built on artificial intelligence and technology revolution, which enhance the UAE’s global economic competitiveness and boost Dubai’s leading position on the world trade map.     

 

 

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) showcased its smart services platform, which is an intelligent convenient service delivery channel that speeds up transactions and cuts down customer’s time and effort. DMCA also presented Dubai Maritime Virtual Cluster, an innovative initiative that fosters efficient communication among maritime community stakeholders to ensure Dubai’s global maritime leadership.  

Dutech, PCFC’s technical arm, displayed to the exhibition visitors its recently launched Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution as well as  NAU initiative, a Dubai 10 X project that aims to sustain Dubai’s dhows trade sector competitiveness. 

Customs World, on its part, shared with the visitors, particularly foreign delegations, its experience of enabling other countries around the world to streamline and simplify their customs procedures through a comprehensive reform and development program that is globally acclaimed and ranked by the World Economic Forum as first-in-class in terms of customs efficiency.

Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence, said: “PCFC, the strategic partner of this year’s DIGAE cycle, is guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the government of the future. The entities falling under the PCFC are playing a pivotal role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of UAE’s economy and leading the knowledge economy based on transformational innovation and deployment of disruptive technologies.”   

The PCFC platform held competitions to encourage visitors and customers to learn about its innovative initiatives showcased at the exhibition. Winners were awarded daily valuable prizes.
