KSA's top photography contest open for entries

The Colors of Saudi Arabia Forum, the top photography contest in the country with prizes worth over SR1 million, is now open for online entries.
Professional and amateur photographers are allowed to enter the contest. The final deadline is Sept. 30. The awards ceremony will be held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center from Dec. 13 to 19.

The forum includes awards for the Prince Sultan bin Salman photography contest as well as a competition for photographs and short films. There would also be several workshops and training courses held at the event, a spokesman for the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), said on Tuesday.

He said the aim of the contest is to help promote Saudi tourism in the country. The competition also accepts entries that have been taken on mobile phones, he said.
Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, acting vice-president for marketing and programs at the SCTA, said the competition this year would build on the success achieved over the past three years. Last year there were 70,000 visitors to the exhibition, he said.

He said the SCTA’s aim is to promote the country’s tourism sites, particularly among citizens. The contest would also allow photographers and filmmakers to meet and share experiences, he said.
Those wishing to enter the contest can do so on the website www.seesaudi.sa
