Eid Al-Fitr in the Eastern Province is going to be quite special this time as the King Abdul Aziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), the first incubator of knowledge of its kind in the kingdom, is inaugurating Eid events for all their visitors to enjoy.
Ithra presents 34 various Eid programs designed especially for Eid celebrations starting from June 16-23.
The offerings include theatrical performances, family programs, and children programs alongside with some movie offerings. Starting with a first-time performance in the kingdom by the world-famous Mariinsky Orchestra featuring maestro Valery Gergiev on June 16-17, coinciding with the second and the third day of Eid Al-Fitr.
This is an exceptional performance by one of Russia’s most distinguished orchestras as it also marks Ithra Theater’s first show. Ithra Theater continues the Eid celebrations with the “Les Freres Colle” from France. On June 20 and 22, three talented brothers, Clement who is a drummer, Stéphane the juggler and Cyril Colle, who is a little bit of both, will deliver a unique stage show that combines juggling with drumming beats in a joyful performance.
History and art lovers will find what captures their senses at Ithra as the museum galleries open their doors for visitors to indulge in a journey through time with a special focus on the exclusive Islamic art collections brought to Ithra visitors to enjoy all the way from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Children have their fair share in Ithra.
The Library and the Children Museum offer different programs and interactive activities such as Ithra Games, Eid in Other languages, moon sighting binoculars and many more that improve cognitive skills of the little ones and stress on mixing fun with learning. Families can join the Energy Exhibit and explore how fun science can get with the International Science Show which contains many thrilling experiments such as the Interactive characters and the friendly chemical experiments in an atmosphere full of engagement and excitement.
