To commemorate the Breast Cancer awareness month, Jumeira Rotana celebrated a “Pink Day” together with all guests and colleagues.

 

In observance of the campaign, all colleagues wore pink ribbons and special decorations gave the hotel lobby a pink glow. The day started with all department heads joining in with parts of their attire being pink. Events followed with complimentary cupcakes, cookies and meringue given out to any hotel resident. Colleagues gathered funds for the good cause during a tongue breaker competition.

 

Statistics shows that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. The cure lies in innovation however until now there is no sure cure for the disease. Only early diagnosis, treatment and prevention can help in eliminating it.

 

Commenting on the event, Mr. Ulrich Hoffmeister, General Manager of Jumeira Rotana said, “It is essential for us to take part in such an initiative, not only to support the global awareness but as well to educate as many people as possible about the importance of joining the fight. Prevention is better than cure and data shows that there is a 98% survival rate on early detection of breast cancer.”

 

Over the years, Jumeira Rotana has taken part in this important worldwide awareness campaign with many initiatives, such as “The pink walkathon” or “Let’s talk about breast cancer” with the aim of promoting health and wellbeing.
