Inbound containers jump 17% to 226,700 in February: MAWANI

The Saudi ports reported a 17% increase in the number of inbound containers to 226,670  in February, compared to 193,940 containers in the same month last year.
 

In a statement, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said that outbound containers declined by nearly 6% to 181,940 in February, from 194,160 in the prior-year period. The number of containers handled also dropped by 10% year-on-year (YoY) to 561,480 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), compared to 622,830 containers in February 2023.
 

The number of transshipment containers declined by about 35% to 152,870 in February, compared to 234,760 in the same month of 2023.
